👜 Why Bag Inserts Are a Must (Especially for Vintage Bags)
Because there’s no point in owning a luxury bag if you’re not going to protect it
Let’s talk about one of the easiest (and cheapest) ways to level up your bag game: bag inserts.
If you’re into vintage designer bags, especially those from Japan or resale sites, you need this in your arsenal. Why? Because structure, protection, and organization matter—and bag inserts do all three.
Whether you’re carrying a vintage Louis Vuitton Noé, a Dior Trotter tote, or a classic Celine Boston bag, here’s why I never use mine without an insert:
🧼 1. They Protect the Interior
That beautiful suede or canvas lining? It’s not designed to absorb lip gloss leaks, pen marks, or melted gum. A felt or nylon insert acts like a liner that keeps your actual bag spotless—especially important for resale value.
🎯 2. Structure = Shape = Style
Vintage bags often lose structure over time. A bag insert brings it right back.
No more sad, slouchy Speedy. No more Noé collapsing on itself. Just clean, upright lines that make your bag look brand new again.
🗂️ 3. Built-In Organization
Most designer bags are just big, beautiful empty spaces. A good insert adds compartments for your phone, wallet, keys, lip balm, and receipts—without turning your bag into a black hole.
🔄 4. You Can Switch Bags in Seconds
With an insert, you can pull out everything at once and drop it into a different bag. If you love rotating your bags like I do, this makes life (and outfit planning) easier.
🧵 My Favorite Inserts
Not all inserts are created equal. I look for ones that are lightweight, structured, and match the shape of the bag. Here are a few favorites I swear by:
🛍️ A Quick Size Tip
Always measure your bag’s interior before you buy an insert—or search “[Bag Name] + Insert” to find ones made to fit. Too small = it slides. Too big = it warps your shape.
